If said P-car is faster than Paulies there should be no problem with the ZR1. Granted in the right hands the ZR1 is no slouch. But most do not drive it to it's fullest abilities.
Just be sure to race your race not his...Before my '09 Z06 my '07 only made 544rw and would run with Paul & Sean when they were on mix. Not sure what tune/bar they were at though. So peak HP rating is only part of the equation...
Maybe Paulie can elaborate if he's not too busy planning his lunch date with his latin lover...

That was on my old, tiny K16/GT28 hybrid turbos w/ out my new intake set up. I am about 8 car lengths faster now.
I do believe that Nicks car has everything and maybe a touch more in terms of turbos than my current set up which should hopefully (picking her up next week) run a 5.4-5.5 60-130. Nicks car is way faster than Paulies and he is not at the age where his hand speed and eyesight are compromised
Having said that, your 544 would run even w/ my car when it made around 570 or so (at, as you said a mix, so semi high boost...although I eventually found out that those turbos died out above 1.3 bars anyway).
The lesson was that the Vette was/is faster than its hp numbers suggest.
