997T Illuminated Door Sills Installed in 996T
To answer some questions as best as I can:
1. The illuminated sills were approx. $550 to $600 from the dealer with a PCA discount. I lucked out and found a brand new set on ebay for $250.
2. Not sure if they come in carbon fiber but I don't think they do. I simple idea would be to have a carbon fibre vinyl overlay from a graphics shop put over the stainless sill plate with a cut-out for the logo so it can still through.
3. The mesh was from ebay and comes in the major colors such as balck, silver, beige and comes with the clips to hold it tight on the carpet using special "carpet only" fasteners. I decided the silver was a nice match with the silver trim in the car and looks great. Black would have also been nice.

Hi,
Just ran across your thread regarding the illuminated turbo door sills you put on your 996TT. Great job! I have a 2002 996TT and just bought myself the same lighted door sills. However my car doesn't have any footwell lights. There is no light that shines on the gas/brake pedals. Could you tell me how you went about wiring your door sills? How much power do they require. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Damn. Just realized I posted here a year ago. I purchased the wire harnesses throught Suncoast and tapped into the dome light control of the body control module under the driver seat. This way they light up when doors are open, go off when dome lights dim out. No draw, no dead batteries, no issues. I'll get a good pic up when I can.
One of my techs did it and didnt watch the entire install. Used a power meter to test pinouts and tested for draws on system. All I remember is it's tapped into BCM under the driver seat.
