Mitsu ppl are stupid...they are going to lose their customer base....

Granted aftermarket parts should void the warranty if they can prove they did the damage...

But voiding the warranty because they raced a car is just moronic....what are you supposed to do with a car that's made to be raced on a track?? Drive is <60 mph....I don't think so...

What a bunch of morons....

just take a look of the parts list in the motor, it's extensively worked, should be bullet proof, but then again, even bullet proof motors let go sometimes
Don't get me wrong, that car looks like a blast to drive. Seems to me that whatever they did to that car could be done for less than 85K...

So now they go and build an even more stressed unit at a ridiculous price...

85k ?
Actually, that is not true at all. My brother has a Mitsubishi dealership and that is just another internet rumor that has developed a life of its own.

without dwelling on this, I know of a couple locally that bought a Nissan 340Z and a Lancer Evo simultaneously....

Lancer warranty not honored because it was "seen at an autocross"

Nissan 340Z warranty honored even though the car has been turbocharged and modified...

you decide what is rumor, what is fact...

It may be bulletproof and very fast, but it's still a Mitsubishi.

No thanks.

That's what lambo and ferrari owners say about porsches, still a VW, has RMS leaks, has tranny problems, catches on fire, and etc.

Never under estimate the japanese car manufacturers. Hondas and Toyotas have come a long way since the 70's.

Why are people on this forum always bagging on Evo's and WRX's. They are not your typical Honda civic with a retarded body kit and a Hawaiian Punch can on the back. They're quality cars with performance that comes close to or matches our six figure vehicles for one third the money. As far as reliability and dealers backing up their cars... I can't believe some of you people opened that can of worms with some of the things I've read on here. How many Porsche's do you see running around with 150K on the odometer and no engine work?

I know what is fact. You are referring to an isolated incident with a "friend". I am referring to company policy of which you possess absolutely no knowledge whatsoever. I just got off of the phone with my brother, who has no reason to lie to me, and who also races autocross nationally with an EVO, and there is no truth to it. Mitsubishi, like all manufacturers, can choose not to honor the warranty for what they determine to be damage due to abusive driving/racing of the car but they do NOT proactively void the warranty nor does anyone search the interenet looking to do so.

I wouldn't mind having that bad-boy myself. $85K is a little steep though for a Japanese made car.

The engine (4G63) is rather bulletproof. I got beat at the strip by one running 25lbs of boost on the stock fuel system. It was a beast.

try

you could make one as fast for less, but not w/ all of those parts, the e-diffs, etc, etc.

as I mentioned, all depends on the dealer you go to, I'm sure there are more then a few p-car dealers that would do the same unfortunately
