They're quality cars with performance that comes close to or matches our six figure vehicles for one third the money. As far as reliability and dealers backing up their cars... I can't believe some of you people opened that can of worms with some of the things I've read on here. How many Porsche's do you see running around with 150K on the odometer and no engine work?
Agreed....

with enough of a bankroll I wouldnt mind this evo MR in my collection right next to the 996TT for ***** n' giggles

better come with a factory warranty for 85k

How did a 3237lb car with only 400hp go 0-62 in 3.6 seconds?

AWD

and that power is to all 4 wheels, so think of all the loss through the drivetrain

the #'s are also most likely very conservative, I have a friend w/ an evo w/ just bolt ons and cams and he's laying down 330ish on the dyno

Lancer warranty not honored because it was "seen at an autocross"

Nissan 340Z warranty honored even though the car has been turbocharged and modified...

you decide what is rumor, what is fact...

The Mitsu looks like &^$&*(*^.

If they want to graduate into people over 40 they have to loose that wing. Granted the #s are wonderful but they look is the real price to pay... and that is a huge price.

Imagine you have to close a deal and you show up in that car.
YOU LOOSE -- because in this country your performance is measured by how much you make, which is turn is represented by your car, house, etc.

Since when??? Every mitsu engine I have seen starts burning oil in a big blue puff of smoke out the pipes at 70,000 miles...
My car has the same basic engine thats in the evo, the 4g63.

105k miles and 2 problems:
1: Water pump at 80k
2: clutch being replaced right now

Any car will last if it is taken care of. Maybe your experiances are with people that beat their cars on a regular basis.

I'm think of getting an EVO to replace our Mini Cooper. My wife drives it as a daily driver. She wasn't too keen on the EVO until she started seeing them at the Crystal Cove car show on Saturday mornings. Seeing that the car had a 'cult' following (like the Mini) is appealing to her. The suede Recaro seats helped push her over the edge too.

this car is for their european market, where the evo and sti have excelled across all markets. THe person who buys this car will not have this as his only car IMO. Hell look at all the people on this board that aren't y oung that own one of the other.

Yes, but not many "boy races" will be able to afford the 85K price tag. However, you can make a "US spec" EVO do that "speed" for A LOT less. Perhaps $5000 in mods.

Buy an EVO MR and add about $20k to the $28k price tag and get the same performance IMO.
