Cleaning Rust and Preventing Rust...
Happy New Year all,
I just broke down my rims for powdercoating and I noticed ALL the bolts are rusted. I soaked them in vinegar overnight to remove the rust and it worked like a charm! There are paint chips or whatever they used to coat the bolts with. Now, each bolt has metal surface showing. I want to know how I can paint and prevent rust from coming back. Should I prime the bolts and paint them? I know it is easier to buy the bolts from the wheel manufacturer. They want $7 per bolt and there are 120 bolts - $840 for just the bolts!
