1.3 bar on k16?

I saw on another post that someone in Germany was running k16's at 1.3 bar. What would the HP gain over a 1 bar set up be? I realize the risk of frying turbos is much greater. If that were to happen.....hmmm it would be a real good excuse to upgrade to new turbos

There's been a lot of debate here. There is a reason most tuners don't go above 1 BAR. You just start heating up the air at 1.3 BAR. Intake temps will go through the roof and you won't make much more power.

It's about keeping temperatures in check and flow high. a K16 at 1.3 bar achieves neither goal.

I think the 1 bar limit is probably the point of diminishing returns for most K16 cars as most tuners have found and recommend. Now if you've got intercoolers with lower pressure drop, intake piping that alleviates some of the pressure loss on the intake side, and a free flowing exhaust your 1.3 bar K16 may now be more efficient than a stock-ish car at 1.0 bar.
