Sounds like a simple solution to the problem of a high bite point

I have the same high engagement - short engagement range issue. I have a Clutchmasters custom stage 3 which is I was told has the reworked fulcrum for extra clamping force and kevlar/fiber hybrid disk.

I have debated putting in a clutch stop to reduce the pedal travel range (don't want to loose safety feature of no start unless clutch depressed), but otherwise am stumped. I've gotten used to it and it holds fantastic at speed, so I'm not going to burn through $1k in labor to take it out and put it in again, but I'm open to suggestions for getting it to feel a bit better.

I've noticed the same thing. Lots of people have Clutchmasters stage 3 and report engagement/feel characteristics all over the grid. Different people have different perceptions, but there's got to be someting more to this.

TTBoost and I have driven each other's cars back to back and our engagement points are very similar.

A stage 3 or triple disk with a LWFW will NEVER feel like your stock clutch. I tried all of the tricks two years ago when i installed the ATS triple carbon and LWFW. Nothing will bring it back the a stock feel. Not even altering the slave or master attached to the clutch pedal (did it all). I have had my triple carbon in my car for nearly two years and 4000 miles and still su$k at the line. Yes, you need to relearn how to drive a stick after this upgrade. The good thing is that I stopped racing from a dig and now start at 10MPH to 40MPH instead. It is a lot easier on your car too.

I have the Clutch masters stag 3 in my GT2.I left the DM flywheel in & it feels the exact same as the stock unit except under hard acceleration you can feel the harder bite upon release.

Any idea what are we talking about? Have you tried any flywheel other than stock? I just try to figure out how to get engagement point back to stock and still have benefit with light weight flywheel.
I haven't used another flywheel setups other than stock. I bet you , if you use the stock DM flywheel your car will feel just like stock with much better bite. I know 2 others who have done the same setup with stock dm flywheel here and are very happy. Call CM and ask them about what can be done with LWFW.

I have driven the 996tt's with other horrible clutch setups...this is the best and its a no brainer! No adjustments needed , just assembled straight out of box with stock flywheel and its fantastic from day 1 with very few miles of break in.

Clarifying my above post, I kept the stock dual mass flywheel and still have the different engagement feel.

Just to make sure , The part # is Model: 20-934-HDF

This clutch has Fiber Tuff coating on the flywheel side on a full face disc , and has the segmented kevlar coating on the pressure plate side for strong holding power.

If you go with the dual mass fly wheel you loose the quick revs you get from the LWFW (unless you have 700HP). Since I only drive my car on the weekends, I went with the LWFW.

This is the reason my first clutch laster 800 miles after the flash (4000 miles total on car). Trying to keep up with this car. With a flash he would still take me by 1 car length. After an exhaust upgrade and super juice, he is one to two car lengths back from 40MPH to 140MPH.

I truly do not like the way the clutchmasters stage III single disc applications "feel"- especially with the hydrauic assist in place. With the GT2 slave conversions they are at least more predictable in terms of engagement but you do need to have a strong left leg as the clutch pedal requires a good amount of force to push (also dependent upon the pressure plate option)

My CM Stage III is the same way, not such a fun engagement for anyone driving the car other then myself. I have had it in for over a year and am now used to it. It is a solid clutch though, love how it catches, specially when blipping the throttle. I would like to try some of those mods to get more feel out of it. Do any of them make more of a significant difference then others?

I'm interested in cutting slave pin idea. Is it possible for DIY?
