I am not sure if Porsche has the same setup as MB, but MB tend to go into power conservation mode when they have weak batteries. The car will not let you turn on any extra electronic features that are not central to driving the car such as the radio, nav, adjust seats, etc until the battery is back to proper standards. Once back to a good voltage reading, it turns all these functions back on. As I stated, I am not sure if Porsche uses a similiar system, but you may want to try driving the car for a bit and seeing if you can get the radio on then. Hope this helps and please keep us updated.

There is a fuse on the back of the radio that will blow almost everytime your car is jumped. You have to have special tools to pull the radio out. Most Porsche dealers sell them. I think it is a 10 amp fuse. Hope this helps.

You will also need your radio code depending on the year of the car. Pre 2002 needs code.

When you try to power up the radio (push the "on" button) do you get an "enter code" message? If so it is a simple matter to enter the code. If the battery is disconnected for any length of time this will also happen. Your radio code should be with your other owner information in the manual folder.

I have jumped my car more than once in the past and the radio fuse has NOT blown as a result.

JP glad you found the problem at least. The code you need is in the seperate manual for the radio. I think it is on a card or something? In any case I had to do this recently and it worked like a charm.

A couple of years ago after some warranty work the dealer had to change out my radio as they said they couldn't get the old radio to take the code. If this happens to you MAKE SURE that you get the new code card.......

Check under the front hood on the options label. Some dealers write it on there. By the way, where was the fuse located?

hey wardhog.. the fuse is actually connected into the back of the radio. I thought it would be inline with some connection but it was all by itself...

Had to buy some interesting tool to remove the radio... call reus and they helped to get it back in...

still have the "wait" showing on the radio... something screwed up but i will figure it out....

I got away with murder because some guy crossed the cables when they jumped my car... I heard that could destroy cars elect. systems.

Jpcuban, I have the exact same symptoms as you did; dead battery, radio won't display any power. I checked the normal fuses, so I would be willing to bet that it is the fuse on the back of the radio. What part did you have to buy? How easy is it to remove the radio?

Thanks in advance.
