Billystang is infamous around these parts
some times if you disconnect the battery for few minutes may work

Did you reset per the manual? If your battery was disconnected or there was a glitch in power, they forget where they are.

Try this:

6452 Power windows
Problem Remedy
The limit positions of the power windows are deleted from
the control module when the battery is disconnected and
connected.

Manually close each power window as
far as it will go, then press the rocker
switch for closing the window again.
The limit position of the respective power
window is now stored in the control module again.

When this happened to me, I manually opened and closed the window fully once (maybe twice) and one-touch functionality came right back.

In my case, I had replaced a battery.

If that does not fix your problem, it may also need a door lock control module.

We see them kind of regularly- it controls the window drop feature when the door is opened or closed so that the window will clear the seal/roof line. It sounded from your post like that was what was happening. Also, if a window reg is starting to bind, it will affect the window drop feature but you will hear the motor trying to drop the window when the reg is affected. The door lock module is a control unit and mechanical lock in one.

Unfortunately, the OPs issue is not a problem with the auto-open and close operation. It is probably the microswitch....start here
