Damned Rodents....
I don't drive my TT in the winter, being in ari area with lots of snow and bad roads...
I do warm it up every week and run it around my driveway to keep things turned over. I popped the engine decklid to see whats going on, look for leaks etc.. and notice evidence of mice... lots of acorns etc... piled up in the engine bay. One of my buds had a problem last season with his TT (and he is a 4 season user!) with mice eating away a couple of critical wiring junctions or insulation causing some faults
what do you guys do to prevent this besides locking a cat in the barn? I threw some mothballs in a mesh bag into the engine compartment to see if that would drive them out...

The ONLY efficient method I found to take mice away is having a cat.
Although I hate violence and killing, we tried every method against mice: glue, traps, poisons etc...every time we were saying "oh, this is the last one!".....but it was not
....And I'm not talking about small mice......

I've read that peppermint oil, the kind they sell at health food stores placed on cotton ***** and placed around the car or in the car will keep the mice away. I have never tried this so I'm not sure how effective this is.
When I store my car I place traps around it and keep an eye on them.

maybe the mice are attracted to the warmth of the engine ?
try putting a load of rat/mice poison arround the car and a bunch of mouse traps
