In most states Blue bulbs are not legal the best bulbs on the market are "Stealth Bulbs" silver (look chromed) and blink orange

Just get some Polarg bulbs from a ricer shop and they'll have the perfect colour for you!

I've messed around with a few different bulbs in the clear side markers. The white bulbs you pull out from the factory yellow marker are pretty bright, but not as white as the HID's. (I need to change the fog bulb, too). I have tried a set of yellow bulbs in there, hard to see them when off as being overly yellow. But, I bought a set of chromed bulbs anyway. These look better off, but do not light as brightly as I would like, although, I am still using them. I may try a set of bluevisions, just so they are bright.

Anyone know why they couldn't make the non lit half of the clear lens into a whitish reflector? Seems like wasted space and it would in fact be safer in a parking lot with the nose sticking out.

were you able to just plug LED's in or did you have to upgrade the whole assembly?

i talked to my dealer and they said i couldn't put LED's in my 996 side markers b/c i don't have the proper housing/plug/resistor/etc. he said to go for the OEM cheyenne side markers which have a bluish tint and will fit my 996. gonna get those tonight and see how they work.

yeah, those look great. exactly what i'm looking for, in fact. unfortunately i already ordered some of these from candlepower dot com just last night...didn't get your post until just now...d*mn you west coast and your stupid late time zone!!!

This Osram MiniXen® 2886X mini wedge (W2.1×9.5d) base bulb has an ultra long life, and produces 85 lumens from 6 watts for the brightest and whitest possible light (up to 80% brighter!) in applications calling for these standard bulbs:

•European W5W, W3W, 2821, 2825 •American 194, 168 •Japanese 3652

anyway, i'll see how these work out. the dude i talked to on the phone said they were just what i was looking for: bright white, not too blue, won't get hot, and best of all, cheap ($4.62/ea with free shipping)

******
1/10/12 update: they looked exactly the same as the OEM bulbs. not at all bluish or HID-esque. as Jay-Z says: on to the next one.
