Need help from wheel experts PLEASE SOMEONE ANSWER THIS QUESTION
Can a wheel expert chime in and please answer this question for me. I have a 996 turbo and have been searching high and low for a good set of used wheels and tires. I have found a set of 360 forged mesh10's in a 20 inch setup that were on a 997 C4S but were built for a 997 turbo and I am not sure if they will fit. Here are the specs:
8.5x20 45 et up front and 12x20 51 et on the rear
245/30/20 fronts 325/25/20 rears
The suspension is still bone stock and have no issues with running spacers or modding the inner plastic fender liners if thats what they would take to make them fit, I just don't want to buy something, get it shipped all the way up here to find out it won't work. So PLEASE let me know I should pull the trigger or not and if not what is the max offset a 996 turbo can handle so this does not happen again. And if anyone has a good set of wheels and tires for a 996tt please pm me.
Thanks guys, love this site

I think that setup may be a bit too aggressive. Think of it this way: a wide body 996tt is as wide in the rear as a narrow body 997. In order for the to cone close to fitting you'll need to run some seriously stretched rear tires.
As far as your awd system is concerned, a long as your overall rolling diameter of all four wheels is within 2-3% at all four corners the awd system will be fine. However in order to fit the rear wheels you'll need narrow tires which will cause you rolling diameter from front to rear to be too far off.
At the end of the day, it can be done and you could theoretically fit them, but personally I wouldn't put 20's on the 996 anyway because the driving dynamics of the car will be compromised. Unless you're getting the deal of the century, I'd probably just hold off for another set that's built for a 996tt.

don't put 20's on a 996tt
it looks horrible, rides like crap
brakes like a school bus and looks trashy
not to mention you will definately rub on a 996tt...
smartest thing to do is buy the wheels if you can get them for a steal, and sell them for a profit
