Why are 9 GT2 wheels so Heavy?

With all the effort to remove weight from the GT2, why did Porsche choose to go with SOLID spoke wheels on the GT2? The wheels weight 10lb per corner more than good forged rims (Champion monolites come to mind). That said I understand that factory wheels, especially ones that is going regular track duty, need to be strong. But aren't hollow spoke turbo twist very strong? At least strong enough. Was the decision based on cost? was it not possible to get slightly wider hollow spokes like the normal turbo rims? Was 500 or less sets not enough to get exactly what they wanted?

CoS996tt is infamous around these parts
Does not make sense why the hollows would not be strong enough

The hollows are plenty strong enough. Either making the hollows in 11.5 inch rears would have been a cost issue, or Porsche wanted a lightly heavier wheel to hold the car down. More unsprung weight makes the wheels harder to brake loose.
