Movies
I guess my list may give my age away but when I was young these first 3 were like cult movies you went to the theater to see them 4 or 5 times. We did not have Video, CD’s, or DVD’s, just 8 Tracks for those who are very young 8 Tracks were before cassettes.
These were the times of the American muscle cars. My ride was a
Big Block 455ci. 435hp. Red 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge
1. The French Connection with Gene Hackman
2. Vanishing point with Barry Neuman
3. Bullit with Steve McQueen
4. The Italian Job
5. Cannon Ball Run The 1st one

Because I own a Countach ... Canonball Run for pure entertainment. I have the same Ansa Formula 1 exhaust on my car as is on that Countach so our cars sound the same. Also love LeMans for the God awfull high speed rain driving ... at night.

"Rendezvous" for EVER!
OK, ... this is a test! Just how old are you guys?
Steve McQueen in Le Mans is cool. Bullitt was pretty intense.
French Connection was heart stopping for its time.
Ronin has some fantastic driving scenes.
Even Bourne Identity has some wild Mini driving.
However, "Rendezvous", a short film by Claude Lelouch, is the first, best, and most cult-like car film in my memory. The difference is that it was shot with no special effects or pre-arranged setups. Not even with permission from the Paris cops! It was filmed and distributed in the '70s, then it disappeared from public view.
Go to the Spirit Level Film web site and click around until you get to the "Rendezvous" section and take a look. The November, 2003, Automobile Magazine has all the poop on it. I ordered the DVD from England yesterday (they confirmed it was US compatible).
I originally saw this film in the theaters as short before the feature in the '70s and have been madly in love with it ever since. I can't wait for the DVD to show up in the Royal Mail. Should be here in another 2 or 3 weeks.
