Actually, I saw it the other night on Spice! I think they're up to number 10 by now.

Movies

I guess my list may give my age away but when I was young these first 3 were like cult movies you went to the theater to see them 4 or 5 times. We did not have Video, CD’s, or DVD’s, just 8 Tracks for those who are very young 8 Tracks were before cassettes.
These were the times of the American muscle cars. My ride was a
Big Block 455ci. 435hp. Red 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge

1. The French Connection with Gene Hackman
2. Vanishing point with Barry Neuman
3. Bullit with Steve McQueen
4. The Italian Job
5. Cannon Ball Run The 1st one

Because I own a Countach ... Canonball Run for pure entertainment. I have the same Ansa Formula 1 exhaust on my car as is on that Countach so our cars sound the same. Also love LeMans for the God awfull high speed rain driving ... at night.

an even tie

- The Italian Job
- Both Mission Impossibles (just great automotive cinematography all around )
- Cannonball Run
- Smokey & The Bandit
- American Graffitti (i just saw Harrison Ford's FORD down at Universal, sweeet)

OT: how great is Monster Garage! Jesse James is the man. I hope they start doing some late-model projects...

"Rendezvous" for EVER!

OK, ... this is a test! Just how old are you guys?

Steve McQueen in Le Mans is cool. Bullitt was pretty intense.
French Connection was heart stopping for its time.
Ronin has some fantastic driving scenes.
Even Bourne Identity has some wild Mini driving.

However, "Rendezvous", a short film by Claude Lelouch, is the first, best, and most cult-like car film in my memory. The difference is that it was shot with no special effects or pre-arranged setups. Not even with permission from the Paris cops! It was filmed and distributed in the '70s, then it disappeared from public view.

Go to the Spirit Level Film web site and click around until you get to the "Rendezvous" section and take a look. The November, 2003, Automobile Magazine has all the poop on it. I ordered the DVD from England yesterday (they confirmed it was US compatible).

I originally saw this film in the theaters as short before the feature in the '70s and have been madly in love with it ever since. I can't wait for the DVD to show up in the Royal Mail. Should be here in another 2 or 3 weeks.

This may turn out to be my favorite. I just received this late breaking news from Gumball Central:

The Film Premiere date for 'Gumball 3000' The Movie is confirmed for Thursday 20th November at the Odeon Leicester Square
here in London. This is THE red carpet premiere venue here in the UK, so get ready for a fully blinged up star studded night.

Fasten your seatbelts, start up your engines, and book your flight tickets to the UK......for the feature length film of this years
‘Gumball 3000’ Rally from San Francisco to Miami. 150 cars. 3000 miles. 6 days. "If you've seen the film called 'The
Cannonball Run', its kinda' like that." Johnny Knoxville

Watch the Jackass stars, mixing up their Dick Dastadley tricks with the Cuban Brothers, Jodie Kidd, Har Mar Superstar,
Extreme Sports skateboard God Tony Hawk and Bucky Lasek, World Moto X Champions Travis Patrana, Carey Hart, and
Tyler Evans, BMX King of Dirt Cory Nastazio, and West Coast Choppers custom legend Jesse James as they race 3000 miles
coast to coast in some of the world's most amazing and custom cars ever built. And be amazed as the Swedish Koenigsegg
Supercar clocks up 242 MPH in Texas and talks his way out of a speeding ticket, as well as Porsche's spinning doughnuts, Dr
Evil and his 6 Blondes all in Lamborghini’s, Blinged up Bentley’s, Ferrari's, the German Polizei high speed car and even a
nitros-injected VW Campervan take to the streets for the ultimate 'road trip'!

And look out for a guest appearance from Burt Reynolds himself!

Title: Gumball 3000

Narrated by: Burt Reynolds

Length: 90 minutes

Soundtrack: Universal Music

UK Premiere Date: Thursday November 20th - The Odeon Leicester Square, London

Nationwide Cinema Release Date: scheduled for Friday 21st November 2003 at all Odeon Cinemas

I though I had a favorite movie until I saw Jennifer Garner in a hot red dress driving a red 355 spider on last Sunday's episode of Alias
