Race Gas Question
What brand and octane are most using for your race file tunes on high boost (1.2 bar & up). I am in Northern Ca. and can get most brands and octanes. I was told no leaded as it will ruin the cats.
I spoke with Todd at Protomotive and he recomended VP103 unleaded.
What are you guys out there using.
Advice please.

depending on what set up you run the fuel does change... hence, if you run only a 18g set up with a greddy on a 5 bar 100 or 104 octane will be fine for 1.3 to 1.35 bar... no need for more expensive fuels as the added octane will not help you with the maxed out fuel system.... However, if you have a dual pump /injector upgrade etc then the higher the octane generally speaking the better the results....

Yes, but for me, not enough to waste $10/gal fuel driving around most of the time. On the dyno, the difference between pump-100% meth and MS109-50/50 was about 25whp and about 25-30wtq. I'm sure the more boost you run, the more of a difference it will make. I am running 1.3-1.4bar.

im running 1.3 to 1.4 bar with 50% meth on pump gas. im not sold why i would want to run race gas ???
