The way that M6 walked the GTR, it had to be heavily modded. That was a serious spanking.

The M6 had a stock exhaust, with pre-cats removed and a EvoTech ECU.

So yes, of course thats Ok

I'd take an M5 over an M6 every time if I had to make a decision. Extra room, same performance, lower price tag.
No prob, my TT isnt going anywhere( other than Tx in March) and I had to bow to the family pressures...wife said no more 4 seaters with a 5 member family. That put the M3 coupe out of the picture and the M3 sedan hasnt grown on me yet. So I get the best of both worlds, the M5 and the TT. I know the SMG isnt perfect but, hey, it will keep my wife out of the car

so slightly better exhaust and a tune on an NA car. That isn't much to give a GTR such a spanking. The GTR must have broken it's tranny.

While researching this car I have watched lots of videos like that. The v10 m5 and m6 arent stoplight racers but they seem to have serious grunt over 100mph. The GTR isnt that quick at those speeds, it just gets to those speeds very quickly... If you go to some of the M5 and M6 sites there are many videos of mildly tuneds M's beating Lambo Gallardo handily.... still like my Porsche better though

That's it? I would imagine it would have headers, cams, ecu, hi-flo cats, and full exhaust. It took that much to barely beat a Z06. I"m still on the fence between the 2 cars but am slowly being convinced that the 996TT is the way to go. A lot of it depends on timing.

If you have even the the remotest possiblility of modding your car then the TT is the only way to go. Modding an NA BMW will set the perfromance gained to dollars spent benchmark to a new low. 5-8K spent on a TT gets real supercar performance these days....

I would never trade my turbo for one either, but as a second play car and one which the wife would drive, it would be nice.

I was 'beating' gallardo's completely stock, people underestimate the motors over 100. To 100 they are not the fastest thing, but after that they gain a lot of speed very quickly.
