If it is just a casual drive you probably don't need to change anything. I just take my time and stay off the gas. You know, do the things that keep you out of the ditch and other people’s cars. Slow start, plenty of following distance, let off the gas a long ways before I need to stop, light on the brakes, coast across bridges and over passes, and slow down over all.
I am driving w/ my summer tires and have done fine. The only time I have had any problem so far is when I was in fresh snow ( 6” or so ) going up my drive way. I had to back up 3 times to get up it. The snow was kind of getting pushed by the front tires and so when it became to much at slow speed to go over I would have to back up and get a new run at it. Other then that the car has been great! Very fun w/ the PSM off in big parking lots as well!

Fly is infamous around these parts
Last January I drove my cab with the top down in the snow. The snow had let up and the sun was shining. It was an amazing drive. Unforgettable.

This year, we had one bad snow day. I could not get my car to go up even the slightest of hills. I had to turn around, go down, and get a running start. I had to time a few lights. I live at the very top of a huge hill in West Linn. I had to rally up it. It was fun passing 4x4 SUVs stuck on the side of the row in my faithful lil' 997 cab.

No worries then, that's how I drive in the slick anyway. And we only get 3-4 inches at whack and that's kinda rare

It's usually a 1-2 inch dusting which packs quickly

Now for some snow and an empty lot!

996 TT is just such stable car, easy car to control, in any condition. Amazed, still, after 4 years. (apologize for the bad camera pics - next time I'll get video)

Exact same setup as FDORN. Blizzaks on TR Rims. (Not the sexiest setup) Recommend by Damon. I can only concur with everything said about SUV's and 4Wheelers. I had a Jeep Cherokee Sport prior to this and the P-car handles better in the snow by far and I love the looks on a hill as I motor up and they are wondering WT?.

On a side note, you will see the buildup of snow on the inner wheels. I would recommend cleaning this out once to the garage for two reasons. One: at high speeds if the snow is not distributed evenly you will alter wheel balance Two: The brakes leave metallic particles on the rotors which will oxidize and freeze your brake pads to the rotors. Ask me how I know.

Not as pretty as the snow pictures!

Beauty to those who drive daily. Sacrilege to others.

And the hits keep coming... They're calling for ANOTHER Nor-Easter to hit my zipcode next Wednesday. up to 18 inches is possible, again...
I'll fortunately get back from the track (taking the Miata and the oldest) just before it's supposed to hit. The source I use has been 100% correct this whole winter... Kevin Sheehan, a Damned sportscaster!!!
