Stock Boost 0.9?

Hey everyone, im new here. I just recently (about a month ago) purchased an 01 996tt. Tonight a friend and i were videotaping some in car pulls and after uploading the videos and watching them, i noticed at one point the car got to 0.9 bar of boost. The car is completely bone stock and i thought stock boost was around 0.6 to 0.7. Anyone have any insight to this? For reference 1st through 5th gear was peaking at 0.7 but then getting closer to the top of sixth it hit 0.9

A lot a variables involved. Elevation, air temp. relative humidity, 91 or 93 octane, etc. Since you're an 01 and stock you're running K16's. You can hit and hold .07 and you might see peaks of .08-.09 but you won't be able to hold it (you'll hit the rev limiter first). Your car is performing as a stock 01 should.

o ok, thanks for the info! i was thinking maybe it had to do with the elevation considering i was right at sea level and it was also around 60 degrees.

I'm around 100m above sea level
I guess average temperatures are around 50*f

I see 0.7bar on my stock K16 car with no boost leaks

Once you get the car flashed, it will hold .9, but yeah, if stock, it was justa spike and will happen every now and then. I've seen most stock K16 cars run.7, every now and then there's a freak with stock .8, but few and far between.

A flash and an exhaust will let you run .9 -1.0 all day on 91 octane.

Welcome to the club!!

Outstanding "in car pull". That 173mph run was on a test track, right?
