Question about remote tuning.
Question about remote tuning.
Hi guys, I finally got my car back, two years later.
After a motor build, lsd, brake upgrade and suspension upgrades. My question is, what is the reasonable amount of business days to wait after you e-mail the log files to the tuner before you get a new file back? I am thinking since most of the time this is done on the dyno it must not take more than 10 or 15 minutes
of the tuners time.

I wouldn't assume that. You should expect that they will be busy with other customers, and you'll be in the queue... When I send something to Kevin at UMW, I have to ship the controller back to him so he can review the controller, the log files or whatever else is needed... I honestly don't want him to take 10-15 minutes. I want him to get it right... take his time...

I think most remote tunes are based on some template generated from real historic data. Much more simple than a real time tune albeit much more conservative. Prob the optimal solution for most street cars.
softronics (and i guess others are similar) works off a download from the car specifically + list of upgrades.
They took 1-2 days to respond over Xmas new years period.

Ok, after talking to a couple of local guys that have done this. They are saying 1 day at the most is what they waited. They must be too busy for me.
Keep trying...
that particular tuner had power down for almost 2 weeks and the road to and from civilization was crushed by the weather... that's as far as I know...
BTW, I recently waited 2 weeks and I am a dealer for the tune...
