Any rate, the R8 would never get a street legal license.

Adam,
The CGT's gearing is almost identical to KA's, gear for gear. The difference being KA should produce approx. 1200+ hp with a progressive nitrous boost between 3000 and 4500 rpm's to spool the turbo's quicker. KA's redline will be 10,000 rpm's.
Oh, she has the handling also.
Hey, talk is cheap. Let's just wait and see what develops when she is finished ........... which should be sometime in late February.

I believe the 550 maranello will top out at 199mph, a few years ago(98 i believe) Mario Andretti drove it to top speed and was really impressed with its stability.
Time will definitely tell. With the new motor I hope I'm not disappointed. Kevin Buckler from The Racers Group has had her out. His comment was, she should be illegal for the street and the power was obscene.

Sorry Ben, you misunderstood my post I was referring to above 130mph the CGT would pull away from the R turbo by a larger margin-

Good, bad or indifferent, I'll let everyone know how it goes as this latest effort is it for this car. I'll definitely keep the car. it's just I'll move on to another project.

The 550 is the only car I've gotten to play with (in the CGT) at serious speeds and I was just wondering how hard they pull at those speeds since I thought I remembered them having a mean rep on the highway. This is the only gauge I have so far for the insanity of the CGT at speed relative to other cars.

Ben the CGT will be in a different league to the 550,
I hope you are able to test the CGT at high speed soon, a Pcar at high speeds is incredible!(a CGT moreso i expect!)
We were in the deserts near borrego springs and there were some pretty incredible straight aways....

Three quarters of the fun for me is building them. There simply isn't much more I can do with this car and still drive it on the street. As with most of my past projects, I retain them.
