Sucks!!!
Just had the hood painted and now there is a nice chip on the hood about one third the way up.

I guess it was going to happen sooner or later, but it still stinks.

I touched it up. Oh well.... stupid roads.

at least u'll feel much better driving it now not afraid of the ''first'' chip

 

and i thought this thread was about your first "chip upgrade" and some sentimental story about it

but this is even worse

 

Ive painted my front end twice already.... once coming from a cross country trip... i got blocked in by 2 trucks... in Indiana... when one of them decided to blow a tire... oh well... when u have over $30k miles on a 996tt... i just dont care...
i probably get 1 chip a day.

btw - what's the going rate to repaint the hood/front bumper?

 

Around $ 700 or so around here.

It wouldn't have helped. The chip was higher than I would have put the bra anyway.

Also I was told no bra or wax until 3 months after the paint job.

What are you suppose to do not drive the thing on the road or highway for 3 months?

On installer said it was only gauranteed against bug hits not stones. Is that right?
