How hard is it to take out the drivers seat?

I'm looking at getting the seat repaired at a local shop but didn't want to leave the car there.

Couple of bolts and a couple of electrical connectors. MAKE SURE to disconnect your battery or you will have an airbag CEL that can only be reset by the dealer unless you have Durametric.

if i recall correctly, i didn't disconnect the batt. (but don't quote me on that, double check)

switching on the car's electrical power with the KEY/ignition is what triggers the CEL, in other words keep the key away from the car until the seat's plugged back in.

line the sidestep with a towel, keep mindful of center arm rest area as well. 4 torx bolts

You may be right. I took mine out at the Texas Mile. I obviously had to drive it. If it sits the whole time, I think it should be fine.

I have taken the seats out of my car multiple times. Just don't have the key in the ignition while the seatbelt connector is unplugged and you will avoid the CEL.

The 4 bolts on the seat to the car frame require an E12 or E10 star socket. The tightening torque is 60Nm. Disconnecting the cabling from the seat does NOT require a lot of force. You have to push the edge lock out *while* you pull up gently, kind of a stair step motion.

I pull mine and install my track seats before each event... You can do it in 10 minutes. But again, don't turn the key on during the removal or installation, or you will be buying a durametric so you can turn the airbag light off.
