Last night when I was talking to _Zac while we were working on the car I noticed this piece of the car. It's part of the 4pts that holds the rear brake setup up.

My question is basically is this piece (circled in yellow) a solid piece or is it pressed in? If it was a pressed piece how can it support anything because it looks REALLY thin in some areas.

Let me know asap!

it might be a non-load bearing control arm, not sure how it 's set up on the porsche, i've gotten very familiar with mine as i've had 7 failiures in 10 months

I'm pretty sure thats the rear toe link like on many other cars

If you wanted something stiffer you could probably pick up an adjustable toe link unit someplace that looks something like these guys. (image stolen from vivid )

+1 toe link. Does not support anything, just keeps the tires aligned toe wise.

Chris you're still running stock links on that beast? I suppose toe isn't that important when you chew thru tires every couple weeks anyhow...

Quote: All that part does is provide toe adjustment. It isn't holding anything up. You have a lower control arm and two upper control arms, typically called dog bones, holding the rear suspension in place. If you check my Suspended in Motion thread, you'll get an idea of what's involved in the rear suspension.

aftermarket ones have washers to correct bump when you lower the car...geometry is off when you lower on the stock toe arm.
