At least on the autobahn you won't be getting speeding tickets in the unrestricted zones while we will be losing our license to drive if caught going 150mph.

A big part of the Autobahn has a speed limit (between 80 kp/h and 120 kp/h) and only some of it is unrestricted. But believe me: there are plenty of opportunities to get tickets here

(cops are very strict concerning tuning and noise for example and there are quite a lot of speed-traps in and around the cities

). Luckily I live quite close to the Alps - loads of serpentine roads there...

That is an awesome 996TT! Congratulations, and how cool to be enjoying that car in its home country (akin to people driving a Corvette or Viper in the USA if you will). I'm sure you're going to have some fun, and I hope you have a chance to take it for a few laps on the Nurburgring sometime. I know that if I lived near there, I'd be the slow Porsche driver out on the 'ring at least once per year!
