There are a few product around which all do some of the job

All I would like is something that will play audio and charge both my iPod and iPhone - this is something which currently isn't offered

No doubt it's easy enough to do, but the market demand is too low

 

AMEN!!!!! People keep linking to devices that either state they don't work with the latest iPhone\iPods or to systems that use MOST or in one case to a site that doesn't even mention Porsche as being supported. I need to look that one over again but trust me I am RIGHT there with you and VERY frustrated too....

Haahaa....Yeah, i've seen you've posted about this a few times before

IIRC, Some items will play both devices, but won't charge them etc....

I don't really care about having to use the controls on the device itself to comtrol playback, that's not really a big issue.....I just want something that plugs into the back of my Navi and can play AND charge both devices

Your needs match mine. While it might be nice to use the changer controls it's just as easy for me to use the phone itself. I'd also like to have some way of umm using the PHONE when I get or make a call but I'm perfectly capable of holding it and driving.

Honestly the Pioneer NAVI system tempts me. There's an all but PnP install kit out there etc. but the total cost is pretty high and I want to spend my money elsewhere!

 

It's not worth it for me to swap the headunit

I've seen small home docking stations with speakers and such that charge and play both devices.....I might have to buy a small one of those and butcher it to find out what's going on in there

There is no doubt in my mind that this can be hooked up to allow playing and charging of both devices

I think the changer control and phone integration are beyond me, but I'm gonna have to look into it
