I have an idea and hopefully Chuck can make this a sticky.

This way we can all have one thread referencing good deals any of us might find somewhere else. This way we can all play by the rules and at least make it easy to find.

So basically if you find a good deal. Post it here, leaving out the contact info and pricing.....which we can all share by PMs. This way if anyone quotes anything requesting contact info, either the original member that found it can PM them or someone else who already got the info through PM. This way the original poster doesn't have to reply to 150 PMs which was a problem Mikelly ran across. Basically if you benefited, don't be shy to step in and pass it to the next person asking for info.

Also, if the sponsors want to step in and inquire as to the reference and pricing I believe they should be allowed the opportunity to compete fairly if they are willing to match pricing.

This way everyone should be happy.

Adam, that is not a bad idea and I have no problem with it..here is your sticky...I would like to put this somewhere where all the sections would have access so it is not just a 996TT thing but some of the other areas like "site news and feedback" just don't get the traffic..any thoughts? Do you have any objections to calling this thread the "The Good Deal Thread" that way if a member gets a good deal from a vendor they can post that as well

Well we get these "Good Deal" threads praising vendors all the time, and I have nothing against these, but I thought this one would be for the other deals. Otherwise I'm afraid it will be full of the vendor deals that the forums are anyway and will get mixed up. Again thou, if it's a deal somewhere else and a vendor is willing to pricematch for same product or one with same function/quality than they should post up and I'd expect members/patrons to do the right thing and give them first dibs in that case as they do offer advice and make this board possible. I mean bandwith and server space cost money and unless we're all willing to pay membership fees someone has to cover it.

As far as moving it somewhere else, I think it would be a good idea to keep a thread like that in every sub forum. Obviously if I have a 996tt I'm not really gonna care for parts deals for a 997 or blinker fluid for an Enzo.

Hope this is OK, I found those $799 "widget masters" on that other thread for only $49.95 at JC Whitney. Don't ban me, I just have a bent sense of humor. All kidding aside, I do support the board sponsors.

 

Ok Adam, it's your idea and a good one so we will try it your way...no vendor good deal threads...having one in every sub-forum will take some work but we can start with all the Porsche forums and see how it goes...thanks for the input...members taking the time to make helpfull suggestions is another thing that makes this forum so great
