I have had several, the EP St II quiet; to me has that unique German performance sound, gurgles and light popping on downshifts, has slight drone in a cab between 2 -3 but nothing compared the others I had.

I have just ordered the DesignTek www.designtek.eu exhaust system that has adopted the connected mufflers stock design and should according to DesignTek be drone free.

Good luck. I inquired about the products a few weeks back and got NEGATIVE response. "Stay away" "fell apart" etc....

If you're expecting the designtek to be drone free I think you're gonna be disappointed. Everyone I know thats had this exhaust has ended up getting rid of it for a different brand.

I run a Milltek and it sounds great - quiet when cruising and like a spitfire when on max attack..... there is very slight drone, although since I've moved to Ruf manifolds its decreased to almost zero.

I've had the Europipe II quiet for four years now...easy to live with and the sound hasn't changed. Also they are one of the few with testing to prove performance increase and sound levels. Good product.

Since you guys have a great deal of experince with 996TT exhausts, I will run this one buy you. My exhaust is aftermarket , I just bought the car and the previous owner said it was a Eisenmann, the tips are Eisenmann, that was easy to validate, but I could not clearly see the plate that was on the exhaust. it was a polished metal plate with GDL, then some smaller letters with xxxxxxone eshaust system, then patent 34x54. I have a 2003 X50TT, I will be removing that exhaust as it way to load, at 2.1K rpm you cant even talk, drone, well there sure seems to be some there as my head was pounding, decided on the EPS1, I will be selling this exhaust but would like to know what it might be, The design is similar to others with polished metal, cats, good welds, the plate is visable from the rear right portion of the exhaust and was welded. The sound is very load at idle and bangs when you acellerate, it realy roars at HI RPM, but being in canada traveling at 2.8K and 75 MPH will bring some tickets my way.
Thanks for any advice

I've had "drone" with my factory exhaust. An interesting combination of road surface and steady-state rpm created a "drone" that was at only about 2700 rpm.

If you get too paranoid about drone you might hear it with any exhaust. Glad I "heard" it with the stock exhaust so I won't think my upcoming EP is to blame.

I have the Europipe loud. It sounds superb. My only complaint is that it is almost not loud enough.
