Is there a mirror adjustment?

My rear view mirror on the windshield seems to be getting looser on the pivot ball. Is there any adjuster to tighten it up?

Nope, no adjustment. I had mine out - it just pops off the ball. You might try popping it off and putting a little wad of paper in the socket before replacing it.

Good idea. Did the mount stay in place when you took the mirror out?

You could try to squeeze the socket and distort it a bit. My dealer did this for me and it worked well. Better than replacing the unit.

Did they squeeze it with the mirror in the pivot or out?

I just wrapped my hand around the mirror, pulled with some determination, and it popped out. The mount, which is basically a hook with a ball on it glued to the windshield, stayed in place.

You can do it!
