Smile V1 saves the day....

Okay, before I get all the "speeding on public hwy" posts etc... This was on a 4 lane road with 55mph that was empty...

I was at a light with a few other cars with a nice strip wide empty road ahead. So I took off kind of fast and before I knew it I was at 120... My V1 starts to go crazy... I stand on the brake and look in my rearview mirror as I figured that I was hit with instant on.. No one... I look ahead and see no one... Hmm V1 still going crazy.. I duck into the only left that is around to take the backroad to my home and as I'm turning I see a white police car in the median ahead.

Whew..... without the V1 I probably would have been at 120+ before I saw him.... May have been wearing an orange jumper.

Thanks Mike V.......

My escort saved me today on the way back from the Porsche dealer. Took a turn on the road that leads to my town and my detector pins. A 25 zone, you have to try to go that slow. About a mile up there sits a cop. The cop cars now have those low profile siren lights on the roof and you can't see them until you are on top of 'em.

Anyway, a known speed trap. They did not get me.

Gary,

I am so disapointed in you, speeding on a public highway. Turbo owners like you give the rest of us a very bad name.

LOL

I've been an owner since 99 and am on my 3rd model. I love this thing. It hadn't done much for me in so cal the last few months but I just did a drive from So Cal to Northern Virginia and man was I gratefull I had this thing. So were a few drivers around me. Except for one, who didn't understand what me high beaming him from behind ment. We were doing about 95 in WY and my V1 went off, I immediately slowed down and started flashing the guy in front of me. But he didn't catch on and got pulled over

I was suprised, I didn't see laser once on my whole drive!!

The V1 Arrows make all the difference for me.

The other day, I was going pretty fast in the city when I got hit with what I thought was instant on. So I hit the brake and was looking around in front of me and saw nothing. Then I looked at the arrow and it was pointing BEHIND me and the power was getting stronger and stronger. So I figured the cop must be trying to catch up to me.

After that, I turned on the first side street and took an altnernate route to my destination.

What I think happened was that I passed a cop and he turned around to follow me and turned his radar gun on (which is why the signal got so strong so fast).

This got me to thinking, If I had a radar detector with NO ARROWS and heard the radar detecor going crazy, I probably would've slowed down right away and kept going straight. Unfortunately, in this incident, I probably would've gotten pulled over by the police officer as I would have been helping him by slowing down and letting him catch up to me faster.

The V1 rules.

- KJ
