Flashing - would the dealer know?

Since my tuner has been unresponsive ... I'd like to fall back to the wisdom of y'all ...

Just a curiousity ... would the dealer figure out if ever a car has been flashed??? Therefore voiding any warranty (extended warranty) programs?

Yes. But generally speaking it won't really come up unless you are trying to warranty parts that broke because of the flash. Like bent rods or something.

That said find a mod friendly dealer.

Any major claim will likely face aggressive questioning by the insurance company. Many extended warranties exclude ANY claims if the car has been modified at all- regardless of the cause. (ie related to the mod or not)

If you think the dealer will lie for you, they will not- best you can hope for is that they are silent and don't offer it up.

my 2 cents

A

I was under he impression that there's a "Flash Count" within the DME ...

If this can somehow be "reset" ... would that be good to go?

according to my indy, that has access to dealer equipment, when they plugged into my car, they could see that "things had been altered".

There is no flash counter but the ECU does a self-check that simply tells you if "yes" or "no" the ECU has been tampered with.
