Maxspeed Motorsports Exhaust
As it has been said many times in the past, drone is very subjective. Thanks but I don't need/want to know.
More info on the Maxspeed system here:http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...hlight=eurocup
Apparently the system is made in China and sold by various distributors worldwide under their own brand in re-labeled boxes to make it look more high end.
I personally ended up with an Oakley/DesignTek system that incorporates joint cansiters. Yet to be installed.

the maxspeed is made in china, and it DOES drone , and honestly is sounds ok.. and just ok ..yes i have heard it in person. but like i said you get what you pay for. you would be better off taking your stock system to a shop opening it up and modifying it and calling it a day...
and yes alot of the exhausts you see, are made in china as you can see on allibaba and just rebranded with a companys /tuners name.
we have a winner !!! Rich you get what you pay for buddy. first you wanted and exhaust that sounded like a gt3 rs, systems that come close to that are a in a but pricey compared to others..your not going to get that sound and performance cheap.

But made in house where the tuner/designer can be a part of the process is important to me. So I mention the 2 I am familiar w/. I would suggest Todd K as well; he can fabricate and has just about everything you can think of.
Like I have said, OP good luck in your search. I am not selling anything or getting anything for the sale. I am just a guy giving an opinion; we all know what that is worth.
It can be done but there is also customs fee and the cost for involving a clearing agent etc.
ok so FINALLY thanks to volcanic ash the exhaust has arrived, 70MM looks scarily wide and it is very well made whether in China/USA or Outer Mongolia but I do fear, Tiptronic, drone as have my sound insulation, rear seats removed & metal rear motor mounts, watch this space
I've had the 2.5" X-cellerator for about 6 months now.
It's a nice sounding exhaust, minimal drone, wife friendly, not too aggresive under normal driving, sounds nice under WOT. Customer support has been very good.
I must admit I was a bit concerned about the single round tip initially, but it's grown on me and is just fine for now. I believe they have a dual tip option available now, if I want a different look, I may pickup the dual sometime down the road.
If you want something more aggressive with more drone, consider the 3" X-cellerator.
Shoot John an email.

Richard,
Our 70mm version, which is seemingly the same system as you describe does have some drone. Enough drone that it motivated me to experiment and design our own system with the goal of no drone and better sound. After a lot of trial and testing, we settled on the cross-flow design as the best sound and attributes we could find. We were after less drone and better sound and the cross-flow achieved that to a very high degree. The X-cellerator 2.5 cross-flow has less drone than either the 60mm or the 70-mm twin cannister systems and IMHO, sounds a lot better than either of the twin can designs. There is a major difference in the quality of the sound between the two style systems and the cross-flow is well worth the small additional expense. I would stongly suggest that you give our 2.5 X-cellerator a very close look, if you are at all concerned about drone.
All that said, the 70mm twin cannister model does sound pretty good and is similar in sound to many much more expensive systems on the market. The quality is excellent and it's a great value. The 60mm version that Scottslaw has is very low drone compared to most alternatives, but IMO still has some drone. Bottom line, IMO, the twin cans do not sound as good as our cross-flow, which emits a fantastic, exotic GT3 type note.
Also, the SpeedTech X-cellerator cross-flow systems are a modular design with bypass pipe options, several sound options and several tip options, which means you are not locked into one sound forever with our system. It is worth the difference in price. Additionally, it's 100% designed, tested and made in the USA by SpeedTech.

It is obvious that your looking for price as your driving force... I have seen that system in question on www.alibaba.com a few years ago.
When you get a chance to ever see, feel, and drive something like this(below) you will then appreciate something that is made with purpose in mind..
good luck,
