Factors to include:

Race Gas/Pump Gas programmable

I'm sure you'll get answers from far more knowledgable sources than myself, but as a 993TT owner, I've researched the tuning options available to me.
600+ can be done, but there's strong recommendations against it. It's always looked to me like the 996TT received a lot more attention from tuners, and seemed like the 996TT owners are a lot more "prone"
to tune their cars aggressively.
Before the 993TT can be tuned beyond 420 or 430, it's in dire need of cooling upgrades.

650-700 is pretty easy to do on these motors. Typically I start with a 993 NA or TT motor as a base for our Monster transplants. Good strong planrs with the right mods. The most we made was over 800. Not very drivable though
Actually if low 11s and a street rod is the choice I recommend buying a NA 993 and pulling the motor. Build or transplant a 993TT motor in it and bring the HP up. Change cams, 3.8, custom cams, 6 angle cut on the heads, bring up the compression. balance and coat the works, L/W custom Clutch, shafts, remapped ECU or Motec system, twin plug, turbos exhaust and you are set. Why do this over a 993TT, because the cars are heavier, the 993TT tranny Sucks. 2 friction plates with a spacer rather than 4, weak input shaft and will twist with one launch out of the hole. I know I bent three of mine. The weight savings in the NA car is substantial and the cost is a whole heck of a lot less. Do some big Brembos, PSS9s or something equivalent, adjustable bars and you have the ultimate street/track car. Want the TT look, zuz fasten flairs on like the GTII and change the nose and the tail.
