Forum Wars Continued: GTR vs 996
With all the individual shop pride existing ........ maybe it's time to organize a Shootout involving a bring what you got.
Might be nice to invite GT R's to participate too.
Maybe something like a standing mile, 60 to 130, 0-150-0 and a best lap time.

heavychevy,
I do have to keep this above board. You appear to make insinuations that AMS is blowing up motors for customers. I do not know of any tuner who has done any amount of work that hasn't lost a motor. If it is their fault they should take care of it.
Do you know of a single incident of a lost motor that they didn't take care of 100% or that wasn't a clear case of tuning neglect?
I caution you to be specific and be truthful as a guess or opinion can really open yourself up to a lot of legal troubles. If not, this needs to be dropped here and now.

I'm going to VIR with Viper days on July 9-11, I doubt I'm driving that far back to back, or if I'd drive that far to go to Autobahn at all. If I'm coming that way, I'll be going to Mid-Ohio or Road America first for sure.
Another thing to consider at least for me. I don't represent any Tuner, neither am I interested in anything but road racing, so I don't know what it trying to be accomplished here.
There is always the UTCC at VIR in July as well.

It is looking like we willl have a very high hp SPE GTR going against a Switzer GTR (both stock blocks) and my car in the near future. We need to get a fast stock block AMS GTR in the mix.

Me????
That's what I read into it. If you know of any bad engine builds they have not made right just let us know. I just don't want to see anyone's reputation being cast in a bad light if it doesn't deserve it. Reputations are hard to build. As far as I know both the above have great reputations. Maybe I am looking too closely at something or misunderstanding what you are posting but it looks like an insinuation about someone's engine build program.
If I have read you wrong than I owe you an apology.

Where did I make an insinuation that AMS has blown up anything? Please quote.
I think if anyone I've been the biggest AMS ****** in this thread, that would have been contradictory to everything positive I was saying about them.

Heavy's UTCC idea is the way to go. I tried to get some GT-r's last year but none showed up. Won't settle the 1/4 mile issue, which I really don't care about
But would give some bragging rights to the winner.
And no I won't be there to defend my fastest 2009 UTCC Full Leather Interior legal street car bragging rights.
Peter
PS, Follow the 2010 One Lap of America which has 2 well prepped GT-r's, Danny Popp in a Vette, Ron Adee in a ZR1 or Viper??? with a Chevy Brodix motor, and Leh Keen in Top Speeds GT2.
1/4 mile
Road Course TT
Wet Skid Pad
Dry Skid Pad

This thread has me a little bit spinning. I apologize for any mix up. The point is still the same. I do not want good reputations tarnished.
OhioGT2, can you answer the question that I appeared to misdirect to heavychevy? Otherwise, let's keep it spirited and above board. Like I said above, I do not know of any bad incidents that our members should know about either shop. I'm sure both have their strengths. I can see from here they both have their very loyal following.
I'd really like to see the old "magic" of 6speed return. Both of the above competitors were not at the Shootout years ago that I started and Sharkster finished, but the cooperation among competing shops was insane. Be competitive, but tearing each other down really needs to stop. Does anyone disagree?

Partially just because I think the ZR-1 is simply awesome.
Typically because of our shop's workload in the past months, I will admit there has been a lack of publicity on our part on what we do. Many of you would be surprised at just how many people do work here at SPI...
I have been the eyes and ears of Tym on the forum for the past couple months because he has been involved in such in-depth projects that devote his full attention. Lately he has been turning 100 hour weeks and frankly, there is no time to read the forums.
I do believe if it were a couple other sponsors on here being discussed to this length, the thread would have been locked and/or removed, but I am not looking for a pity party, just seems to be the common politics here.
Everyone who is working here is pushing out 110%, and as will you will see in the following weeks when we release what we have been up to lately, everyone will see. Just stay tuned, same Switzer time, same Switzer channel.

Don't really know as much about SPI as I should, but I do understand you guys have done wonders with big hp and stock internals.
As for lock and removing threads .......... I guess this thread drew the attention of the wrong mod for that. If I have to close a thread I believe I failed. That is my own personal bar and is not to be confused with being the bar of other mods or how they feel about closings. I do have a very thick skin along with the patience of Jobe. You are not being signaled out, just ask Dan @ Vivid or Todd @ EVOMS. There is nothing personal.
