clunky shifter on the 996TT
welcome matt ..... personally i wouldn't do the oem 997 shifter, just get the oem 997 ssk. the difference in price will be $200 dollars however. in 3 months i went from stock to 997 to 997ssk.
Mr Vinod! yes indeed, I had my heart set on it and picked up an 03 in pristine shape, the perfect color combo (seal gray on my beloved savannah beige), well maintained, with a few nice upgrades from Florida for 46K!
Awesome man! Enjoy your car. I have 997tt stock shifter too i like it ...but i agree with the above poster a 997tt Short shifter would be the best one if you can pay that extra cash.
Why do I keep hearing about people having insanely difficult times pulling the shifter off? When I installed my EVO SSK I just loosened the set screw and it was loose. Done.
Is there much of a feel difference from the B & M short shifter?
Most of the 996 ***** have the screw that hold it in place, but some don't. The ones that don't seem to have been installed by a gorilla because you have to yank the $hit out of them to get them off - you think you are going break something or get a hernia trying.
F the B&M. The one in my Supra broke right like a pretzel going into 3rd just cruising. 1 month out of warranty and B&M would not assist in replacement in anyway. My friend broke one as well and there are posts here about the sub-par quality of the units.
