MKELLY banned?

To most of those Euro guys it doesn't mean a thing unless it's done on a Airport strip! LOL!!!!To the people that think we are crazy or whatever for drag racing these cars then please open your mind a little bit. Some of us do not like road racing, mainly because yes I am young... If I do wreck the car then I am ROYALLY screwed because insurance will not cover it. I had to work a lot to be able to afford the car and not going to **** it away because of my inability to handle a car in the twisties. Now I do have a chance to wreck that car at the drag strip, do not get me wrong; but I've been doing this almost 10 years. I've been in the 8s in my old Camaro and know well enough how to control a high HP car when it comes to a straight line.

Mikelly as he is known is on other boards, but I know of 1 he is on more then others and is a Mod.
It starts w/ Renn but it isn't Tech, the secon word does start w/ a T though. But it's a place where you race.
That site doesn't take issue w/ this place but it is strictly a Porsche forum. It's mostly a Track forum and again it's all Porsche.
I like both places.
What I don't get is why some1 cares to know and ask it publicly. Just ask the Mods in a PM. Ask Mike on the other board. All your going to get w/ this is he said he said stuff.
It's also odd that this wasn't locked down and moved to the trash w/ a PM from a mod explaining what happen from their point of view and why this thread was killed. But that's how I mod a board and keep server space from being wasted.

Everyone has their own ideas on how a board should be run. If you don't like it here, don't be here. If you don't like drag racing 911's, then don't read the threads about them. If you want to make the 6 more about road racing, then do so by starting informative and intellectual threads about them. I thought Mike was an asset to the 6, many did, but one person will never change the way a forum is run... in the end, it's all about money, and they have policies in place to protect their "business". We can go on and on about this but this conversation will go in circles...
Be careful what you ask for.............
However I will say this, a lot of people (including mods) are fed up with the way this site is being operated and it will only cost them in the long run. This is a community, and when business starts to take precedence over community, it loses it's appeal. Let's not ignore the OTHER part of the story.
This isn't just about drag racing vs road racing, though letting anything involved with road racing slide into the abyss while all the 60-130 championships are the main focus isn't exactly balanced. Look at the sticky list, we had to get a 997 TT mod over here to get a decent sticky at the top that involved some road racing.
There are a LOT more useful threads in this section than Texas 2k17. How about the freaking picture thread, weight thread, how to threads, diy or whatever? Or do those not make IB money?
You can't ignore the obvious.

1. There are no "997TT mods", "996TT mods", etc.. All mods are allowed to moderate in all sections.
2. No one ever asked me about a road-racing sticky. I'm taking a guess here, but actually informing me that people wanted it may have expedited the process.

I don't know Mikelly nor am I interested in the discussions on the reasoning behind his banning. But as an outsider I will provide this as constructive non-biased input. This forum seems to have one of the most strict policies on discussions of other vendor's products. I visit many boards that are paid for by vendor advertising and they are not near as sensitive about it. At the end of the day, whoever runs this board is making the rules so it is their show. But I would sure hate to see so much valuable experience or knowledge leave too.

Thanks!

Let's try and keep it focused on road racing and it will remain a sticky.
Thank you.
I guess my point is why does that deserve a sticky every year and important threads that people actually use here do not? Tx2k isn't even a 6speed event. How many guys from 6speed actually go to the event. We had 20+ 6speed members at VIR in 2008 and didn't get a sticky. I can list a lot of threads that are far more useful to this section than that is. But it's up there every year.
We've been asking why the weight loss thread isn't a sticky for over a year now. It was a sticky then got bumped by 60-130, 1/4 mile etc threads. The brake thread was a sticky, then not a sticky. The picture thread was a sticky, then not a sticky.
There's no arguing what takes priority around here, but can we at least get ONE USEFUL THREAD AS A FREAKING STICKY!!!!!!
Maybe not officially Scott, but we know which mods spend most of their time where. And it's almost always an owner of the model that spends the most time in that section. So in essence that's what it ends up being.
We have asked for the weight loss thread to be a sticky for the longest, there are a lot of posts in there asking why it's not. It gets bumped all the time so it won't get lost again (and not just by me) It gets so far down the list it's actually hard to find sometime. Probably the single most universally useful thread in this forum that can't keep a sticky. The fact that it's not, and looking at what usually is speaks for itself here.

As I understand it, we usually take down a sticky if there has not been a post on the thread for >14 days.
As for technical threads, I try my best on the 997TT/GT2 forum to keep this up to date:

if you see an important thread that was a sticky and the sticky goes away ask someone about it....if you think a thread is important ask for it to be made a sticky...we don't go around arbitrarily making some threads a sticky or removing sticky status...we respond to requests by members...it's not good enough to demand one in a post since it could easily go unseen...you need to pm a moderator...if it is that important to you then you shouldn't mind taking the time to send a pm
ps.. I don't think stickies expire like announcements do but from what HC is saying maybe they do and it could be software driven if no posts are made after a certain time
