So my motor is being put back in the car today after getting rebuilt. The shop has told me that my throttle body is frozen! Said he can move the flapper with a screwdriver but it is stuck open (siezed)? Can this be caused by methanol being sprayed on it?

I was also told my water pump took a dump as well. I didnt have any coolant leaks at all when I brought the car to the shop. Do these normally go out at 55K??

 

That would be very dangerous if you were driving!

 

I would think the ECU would recognize it and correct it as it is electronically controlled.

 

Have someone with lots of "Meth setup" experience give you a direct answer...
Im sure it can be but maybe not...
But I can tell you that my business partner has meth on his 993 pushing 1000rwhp for some time and it does fowl a lot of things... TB ? IDK...

 

ECU can't control a physically stuck throttle body.

 

Correct as in lowering the rev limiter or cutting timing, etc. Like a fail safe mode.
