OK, borrowed the cable from my shop and installed it on my laptop, same deal... Here are the codes:

3 Supply Voltage
195 Control Module Faulty

Battery is fully charged and car runs great! Only thing that happened, is the car sat at the shop for a few weeks and battery went dead... That's it!

Basically, durametric reads the codes, but will not clear them - it just spins the please wait icon and flashes the LED on the cable forever...

I may have to take it to the dealer, but really don't want to... Anyone seen this before?

Thanks!
Chad

Have you tried the newest update to durametric (6.0 beta IIRC). it can do more than the verion 5.

Seeing a "control module faulty" though doesn't inspire confidence in a simple solution. If there is something wrong with the module, you might not be able to connect and clear it.

I'll have to give the 6 beta a shot another time. Their site is down and I have to take the cable back in the morning.

Thanks!

I had my 03tt supple leather seats taken out and gt3 oem seats put in and I have this code. My buddy had durametric with my vin stored as one of the cars and he tried to clear it. It would clear but return each time. Don't know what version he is using.

I reads "passenger seat belt". I am going to have to take mine to dealer to make sure everything under the seats got plugged in correctly.

Yeah, I think this is a different issue. I didn't change anything with the seats, etc. Car just set for a few weeks and I had a intake repair done and now this... Nothing in the interior of the car was touched...

I suspect it is just a phantom error...

Well, I got a replacement airbag module 996.618.219.01 (the main module) and still same issue... Would the other modules cause this problem? I may have to take it do the dealer for diag...

If you need the module above, I have one!!!

The original problem is this for quick ref:
3 Supply Voltage
195 Control Module Faulty

Yep, guess this is a strange problem. I may be on my own and have to pay to get it repaired... I dislike taking my car to the shop without a good idea of what the problem is...

Hope you did those simple task
1: Fuse E1 check
2: Check the ground and plug connection on the airbag control unit for corrosion

I am in the troubleshooting manual and every time the signal is triggered after a dead battery it should erase with PIWIS or with a Durametric I guess... It's strange but I think the message in latch in the instrument cluster. There is a yellow/red wire going from the control unit to the instrument cluster. You should take a look at the continuity of this wire. That's the one who tell the cluster to put the airbag light "on"....

Yeah I pretty much checked all the fuses that could be remotely close and all are good. I doubt I will probing too much further, I have about exhausted my skills!

Thanks again!

I am sorry, I was into a heavy research for a solution. It is the kind of problem that sometimes , fix can be soooo simple. But it also can be really difficult and only highly skilled mechanics can found the cure. I hope this fault can be fix soon and I also hope you will keep us inform about the final result....

Let's say that I am talking to myself, what would be the last thing to try before going to the dealer because I am a poor guy and hate to spend money at the dealership. Since the message is latched into the instrument cluster, am I able to reset the instrument cluster computer only ? With the ignition switch on , just before engaging the starter, pull the fuse E1 for 10 seconds and put it back. Keep your eye on the airbag light, what happen? Of course I am talking to myself and it is on my own car and whatever happen to my car because of me is my own fault.....

The whole process takes 2-3 days and it cost anywhere from $35-50.
I don't think it is the main module. I got one from another 6speeder (he gutted his car for track work) and it did the same thing... I may have to take it to the dealer and have them put that one tool on to check the wiring, etc.
