993 turbo or 996 gt3?
My heart has been set on the 993tt for a long time. Looking at the GT3 is also very attractive. I don't know but one of these cars might be in my near future I am just having trouble deciding. I almost got a C2S 993 a while ago but held off. I still think that it might be the car for me cause I am not looking for tons of push but rather that porsche feel. Really, I am just not attracted to the AWD but when I drove one it really didn't take much feel away from the car. Is there a 2wd conversion kit for the 993tt? If so does it offet the character of the car too much? I'd love nothing more than a modded 993 tt!
I totally see this as a win-win situation.
993TT - Classic looks. Special car. Stinkin' fast. If you're street driving, this is the car to have. I'm one of those who thinks AWD is king on public roads, daily driving. Turbo lag.
GT3 - Not so classic looks. Incredible handles. Modern-day 911 that is a much better drive than Turboed 996s and 993. Too raw for the streets. Needs to be tracked. Begs to be tracked.
I picked the 993TT. No regrets.

You said you aren't looking for tons of push, but rather "the Porsche feel". It SOUNDS like the GT3 would be more in line with your desires, but only if you are willing to "put up with it" on the street. As B.C. says "raw for the streets".
Plus, the newer tech argument is a good one as well. Cars are getting better, no matter what "old schoolers" say. Huge improvements for the 996 line in chassis rigidity, for example.
