Alarm Faults

My alarm has been going off once or twice a night about half the time over the past month or so. Whenever I arm the alarm I get the horn honk and the double red flash on the alarm indicator. So today I got tired of it and took the car to my indy for him to pull the codes using Durametric.

There was a code in there relating to my radio wire, but my guy said that was ok. There were also about 30 repeats of the same code relating to some alarm module fault. According to my mechanic, that might mean that I need to have my driver side door handle assembly replaced, because it has some type of alarm sensor embedded in it (if I understood him correctly). He also stated that it is not uncommon for the IR sensor on the dashboard to go bad. Has anyone had any experience with this? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks. I actually had him download the latest version recently when we bled my brake lines and my ABS pump. Where does it say which codes are important and which aren't? He said that he would do some research on the codes that came up in the factory manual. Last time I was looking through the Durametric software the documentation wasn't the best IMO.

Do you just click on the fault code to get more information?
