lookin for a dv i can hear in the cabin
hi this is an old tired problem fo me.... installed evo pipeing and i can no longer hear the great woosh sound of the dvs. the sound was present with forge but went away (same dvs)changed dvs (bloody knickles) the sound still gone pressure tested dv they are working .... the only difference is stock piping was metal after market rubber i got from alex at shartwerks.... does the rubber eat up the dv sound??? is their a louder dv around??? think i'm around 576 or 600 hp. dependes on what you read
That's what I was gonna say... Sounds like you're looking for a blow off valve instead of a diverter valve. I've never heard a turbo 911 whoosh like a Subi. But I do enjoy the jet-like whine I hear when the turbos spool right before the thrust pushes me to the back of my seat
yes but the forge were making that great woosh, and suddenly stoped once we installed the new piping, i then changed for the sound only and still no woosh..... the dvs are workingas per pressure test. just to quite for me.....will check on the release area thanks steve
but if they were working befiore the pipe switch , it's not the dvs gotta be the sound deading of the rubber hose vs steel

yea i noticed those evo pipes brought down overall noise levels of the exhaust too. decreased drone. agree with others, prob need to go with BOVs. pshhh pshhh ... i like the whoosh sound more. not sure which do that from the F hose position. tials sound nice.

Are you guys talking about the red boost hoses? I noticed a few things over the years that I can share.
-A thin Y-pipe like the one Vivid sells will do a bit. the factory black one is very thick. -Cutting open the left side of the airbox will help with throttle responce and let out a little more sound. Or an EVO airbox.
-You can remove the sound deadning in the rear under the rear window. Easey to re-install and made the most difference in my car (with 1.2+ bar and open airbox/polished 2.5" Y-pipe) Very loud for a re-circ system. Everything back there is clips as far as fasteners go.
-How much boost are yo making? The more presssure before release the more sound you will get.
-Lastly this is a bit of a stretch but I rteplaced the dual system on my car with a single lartge Mitsi EVO 9 factory metal diverter. Modified teh piping with silicone elbows and the diverter is good for over 25psi. Never looked for an aftermarket single recirc valve but that may be an even better option.
Remember, removing the sound material may satisfy you. Too lous gets abnoctious after a while.
Cheers,
Sam

well 1. have evo air box
2. the pipeing is from the airbox to each turbo.
3. what bothers me is i had that great sound and it disappeared once i installwd the evo pipeing and yes presure tested the dvs and they are working fine

I used turbosmart dualport with Evom Intake. No problem. It releases air to outside like BOV and some recir back like DV. Makes very nice whssh sound. Not super loud but noticable loud. I think Turbo XS start to make dual port too.

I believe Vivid sells a blow off valve that partially vents to atmosphere. My understating is that you can't vent it all to atmosphere because the MAF will "see" that air and then ECU will add fuel causing a temporary rich condition.
Yes, if you blow tooo much engine will run rich at that moment.
I nearly got Vivid's one but found the other is way bigger (twice cross-sect area) and come with trumpet which mean

Thanks Steve, I was confused with the hoses. They are larger and flow better...that may be why you cant hear the discharge as well. Also if I am correct they are metal...factory is plastic and much tighter. Try that half recric blow off valve. it sounds like a great solution...If you want more sound then you can get into the sound materials in back.
