Meth Kit - HELP

Ok so i have been jawing over to put the Meth kit in the car and with the summer Muggy weather i might just do it and get it over with.

This is the kit i am looking at unless anyone has an opinion (i am sure some Will).

http://www.alcohol-injection.com/dvc...age-2-305.html

with the Dual nozzle

http://www.alcohol-injection.com/dua...grade-200.html

Anyone have a better kit? They look and function all the same the way i see it.
Deal?
I'm ready to but it today.
you can PM me if you dont want to post a response for any reason here.

jgood is infamous around these parts
Can't go wrong with any of the aquamist kits. Just watch the tanks and how/where you tap in the fittings.

AEM makes a kit as well and there's an in depth install post somewhere around here.

Hi Cory,

Use the Aquamist HFS-6 kit, that is what I am using.

As you can see I have installed my jets on the end tanks of my EVOMS IC's.

I have done about 80 runs on the Coq highway fine tuning my system and continue to

Ben

PM me your email addy and I will send you more info from the write-up that Ian did.

If you're looking to pick up a few additional hp without a retune, that kit will suffice; but I wouldn't recommend a retune for meth injection relying on that kit. The Aquamist kits have failsafes based on flow (either too high or too low, in case of a clogged nozzle or leaking line) and water level that will cut boost back to wastegate spring. On other kits, you are just hoping that the nozzles and lines are functioning properly/not leaking. These types of things don't happen often, but there is always a possibility. On top of that, we have tuned cars with just about every kit installed, and none of the results were able to match an Aquamist kit. The nozzles are active nozzles, and do offer better atomization than any kit we have tried, allowing us to get fairly aggressive with nozzle sizing that simply won't work on other kits. Since Ben's install, the HFS-3 kits have become available as well. They will perform nearly identical for most users at almost a $200 cheaper price-tag, but still includes all the failsafe features.

What are the differences between the 3 and the 6?

The 3 does not handle direct injection pulses, the 6 does (this does not apply to the 996)

The 6 has boost compensation control and fail-safe reset-time delay adjustments, the 3 does not. That is really about it. The 3 uses a different flow sensor than the 6, but it still works the same with the Aquamist. The flow sensor on the 6 has some additional voltage outputs on the the sensor itself that may allow you to wire additional custom hardware if you wanted to, but I have never personally seen this done. Aside from the controller and flow sensor, the rest of the kit hardware is identical.

hes running a boost controller so the boost inst controlled through the dme , how can he run failsafes that allow the boost to cut out and go back to wastegate spring boost?

I have the Aquamist 6 and love it, you can feel the extra boost when the lights race across the dial.

Depending on the type of valve there may be a few different ways to do it; but if its a 2 wire valve (12v and PWM Signal/Ground), you just interrupt the signal exactly how you would with the OE valve. Most valves without a signal do not bleed off any boost pressure, so you will achieve wastegate spring.

Yes, all you have to do is break the 12v to the solenoid for protection...

Essentially every wastegate works the same; the boost signal is bled off in a controlled vacuum leak, so the wastegate stays closed because it is seeing less boost than the rest of the vacuum system is seeing. The 3 way valves switch between the bleed line and the wastegate line when they are signaled too, and without a signal the bleed line is blocked shut so all boost goes to the wastegate.

This is excluding top-port wastegate control on a dual port external wastegate, but that can be worked around with a few plumbing changes, worst case a controller change; but most controllers don't use the top port.

The failsafes can even be taken advantage of when using a manual boost controller, however an additional 3 way valve for the Aquamist will have to be plumbed it.

The blow-through MAF does not affect the Aquamist system, since it only requires an injector pulse signal. It also uses the MAP sensor when it is available, but it is not required.

Have you blown Meth across a MAF? I think that's Palette's issue/question.
