Question Tech Q

Will removing the engine compartment fan trigger a CEL? If yes, is there a way to fool the system by inserting a resistor to the wiring loom or something similar?

Temperatures over here shouldn't be a problem, highs in the summer hardly go over 25C.

TIA,

I would not suggest removing the fan. That fan is to remove the heat from the engine compartment. It is a tight space and any cooling is a good idea. Sensors and hoses will get brittle and fail early with excessive heat. On these cars, heat is you enemy. Just my .02.

I wouldn't remove it either as it cools down the motor after engine shut off as well. Why do you want to remove it?

Several Y pipe blow through intakes (ie Protomotive) have piping that will not allow the trunk mounted fan to close. I believe those ECUs are reprogrammed to fool the CEL.
