Shifter Question, options and wheel hop

A few years ago I had a factory "Tequipment" shifter installed. It really helps shorten the throws, but I fear it also makes shifting rather notchy at speed. Especially the 1-2 shift at full throttle.

This may be exacerbated by the factory engine mounts allowing a significant torque shift of the entire drivetrain.

A fast shift is essential in keeping the turbos spooled in a turbo car.

i have seen the numerous posts about the stock 997 shifter and 997 SSK. What can i expect in terms of results?

Also will 997 tranny mounts and "race" engine mounts (or GT2 engine mounts) help significantly in this regard?

Finally, will stiffer tranny/engine mounts reduce the propensity for wheel hop in wheel spin situations?

Thanks!!

My .02. The stock 997 shifter is a huge improvement in smoothness and precision, and what I have in my car. That said, those that have gone to the 997SSK swear it is even better. The motor and trans mounts will help your shifting while cornering because they keep everything better aligned. Occasionally on track I get a hang up while shifting from 2nd to 3rd while cornering, I have stock mounts, and the new mounts help eliminate this. As far as wheel hop, IMO this has nothing to do with motor and trans mounts. An LSD and stickier tires would be more help in this department.

Experts, please correct me if I'm wrong.

LandJet is exactly correct, I had the Tequipment and swapped it for the 997 shifter. Wish I had gotten the 997SSK. I do however LOVE the regular 997 shifter I have in now.

Dunno about the stickier tires, I have gotten worse wheel hop on other cars going to a drag radial. I have only run PS2's on the 996tt however.
