Quit being a big baby & step up to this:

The Mach 2 Racing RS200

Engine builder Geoff Page was involved with the BDT-E engines from the start in 1987 and has assembled the engines for almost all the competition RS200s ever built. There are only a handful of specialists in the world who can build these engines, and Geoff is the best of the best. He built the engine and serviced the Mach 2 Racing RS200 that was driven by Stig Blomqvist in the 2002 and 2004 Pikes Peak Hillclimb. From that experience he knew that to beat the elusive 10 minute barrier he would need to find more power and find a solution to the power loss at high altitude.
The 2009 engine has greater capacity at 2,400 cc, the Garrett prototype turbo delivers more boost with greater control at different altitudes and the LIFE ECU is better able to adjust the engine management settings to cope with variable air pressure. This combination with high octane racing fuel delivers 950 horsepower. Finally, 70 litres of Nitrous Oxide gas boosts the power output to 1,150 horsepower for the equivalent of three minutes.
MDV Specialist Engineering have considerable experience with RS200s and earlier this year they stripped the car down to the bare chassis. Their main task was to loose as much weight as safely possible. Using all their race and rally experience they managed to beat their target of 100 lbs. The 2009 car now weighs in at 2,315 lbs (1,050 kgs) ready to race, with a full fuel tank and with the driver on board.
The Mach 2 Racing team now believe that they have the fastest off-road racer of all time and they are all totally focused on beating the 10 minute barrier.

As a Subaru owner, I say not to buy one for a drag car. I have a Legacy GT (essentially a longer, more luxurious STi) and I've dumped a ton of money into it. Out of my three cars (996TT, R33 GTR), the Legacy is the one I would not sell. The other two are always for sale. The Legacy is also the most fun to drive, but I don't drag race. I do HPDE's w/ BMWCCA. Also, the motor in that STi is NOT a Cosworth long block. If you read more into the ad, he says he has Element Tuning connecting rods, not the Cosworth. I'm pretty sure he just used his stock block and added the internals. That's essentially what Cosworth does though. I have a Cosworth short block in my Legacy GT, it uses the stock STi block (same as my stock block), and then they put in the 81mm billet stroker crankshaft, rods, bearings, pistons, and a cool tag on the motor lol. The good thing about it is the motor is balanced extremely well. Because of this, even though the crank has a longer stroke than stock, it can still handle 8500rpm all day. I only rev to 7k since my turbo is maxed out, no reason in making it blow hotter air to lose power.

The ad also states it has DSS 1000whp axles. Therefore you will not have to worry about axles breaking.

Overall, you'd end up spending 45k in something that you had no hand at all in. $45k for someone else's build. I don't know about you, but I'd never buy another modified car after seeing the horrid work done on my old R34. I had a good friend of mine fix it all and made it mint, but still a lot of money I didn't need to spend.

With that said... My R33 GTR can be for sale for the right price, and it's one of the few 100% legal Skylines in the country (yes, I have the paperwork to prove it). =)

i feel you there, flip side to buying someone elses high tuned car is all the mistakes and trouble that comes with it. just sold my 95 vspec, was a love hate relationship. Good base for a drag car though.

supra would be a good drag candidate but i heard the same, MTs dont hook up as well as the ATs.

if i lived in a place with access to USDM cars, would def go with one of those, particularly so for drag. mustang, viper, corvette all come to mind.
