Question for TT owners in Asia
SubscribeHi,
I live in Japan, and I find great difficulty in locating parts (at a reasonable price) for our TT. Especially for bulky/heavy items (roll bars, exhaust, brake rotors ...). So I'm wondering, for those of you who are in Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore ...), where do you source your parts? Do you have them shipped from the States, or is there any local shops that give you a reasonable deal? Also a lot of the parts are made in Asia anyway!
For example, I am trying to find a set of replacement rotors for my front brakes (GT3 6 pot), and local stealership is asking $1K (parts only) for 997TT rotors. And shipping at pelicanparts is $400 - also a deal killer.
I travel to HK and Singapore fairly often so if there are good shops there, I know what'll be in my suitcase on the way back next time

I think import duty is like 5% ... so it's all dealers trying to make a killing ..Originally Posted by landjet
Wow, I paid $400 for a front set of 997TT rotors over here. Is the difference import duty or exorbitant dealer profit?
may be i should just ship a crate of these things over and sell it on the ebay equivalent here ...
