996tt or gtr?
SubscribeWith your addiction to power I would not go anything LESS than a P800. Run that for a season and then see if you want to upgrade to an engine build and turbo setup with trans build, unless you know right off the bat that you want more than 700awhp.
Have you driven/rode in a P800 yet?

if you are asking between a 996tt or a gtr... i would pick the gtr. the 996tt at this point is an old car with a dated interior. just my opinion! :-)
I donīt think the interior is so important in this case. I think itīs all about speed Originally Posted by Killer911

buy a porsche and do it....
After speaking with a few people more "in the know"
You guys are right, a Nissan will never be a Porsche
I guess if I want a paddle shift car I need to get a 997.2 PDK
Porsche had an unlimited budget with the race derived engine that is in the 996TT & it's hard to compare a car that was 120-140 7-8 years ago with one that is under 85
I guess I just wanted to reinforce my decision before I pull the trigger
Thanks for the input everybody, gotta get back to shopping for a 996TT lol

Good choice

GTR is a very nice car but the Porsche has something thatīs hard to explain. Canīt beat the feeling

I'll try and be as neutral and honest as I can here...
For your purposes, I'd probably choose the GT-R over the 996TT. But that's probably because I really want to build a big-power GT-R one of these days.
However, if you can swing a 6GT2 or 7TT, I'd choose the P-car instead.
That's my 2 cents..

I've had my eye on that 6GT2 on here & thought against it due to RWD
07' -7TT's are approaching 09' - GTR prices now
The GT2 holds a soft spot since my ride in an SPI800 GT2

Because I believe the 6GT2s and 7TTs to be better cars.Originally Posted by Fastfrank

As far as RWD goes; rear-engined, RWD cars are totally different than front-engined, RWD cars in terms of ability to hook. Two totally different levels.

One word...Porsche. Of course, thats what your gonna here in a Porsche forum. Also, the GTR "big brother" is always watching you. Dont dare get close to a track without letting them know or it will void your warranty. How does that make you feel about the confidence they have in their car?
I have both and they are different. Have the EVO 660 on a turbo tip and the GTR is stock. The Porsche feels more sportscar like with its low stance and size. The GTR feels bigger, but has an awesome tranny. Both are fast, the GTR smoother as its stock and the 996 is a beast with brutal midrange power. Plan was to sell the turbo after I bought the GTR, but I am having second thoughts as I still love that car, just don't have room for it. I love the tech in the GTR and it has more room as well. Tough call, you can't go wrong either way. There is no wrong decision.
Scott, you would prefer a GTR for roll on racing?
