Thumbs up GHL Exhaust Installed

I just purchased a used GHL exhaust system and installed it last night. A few comments:

1. Must be one of the easiest systems to install, by far. They use a modular design in that the cats are separate from the exhaust cans. There are two separate exhaust cans. You can bolt that cats to the turbos very easily. Wrench clearance is great. Then, just slip the muffler on and tighten the clamp to the cat and then attach the band clamp hanger. Super easy.

2. The sound is pretty good. If there is any resonance, it occurs between 2000 and 2800 RPM. Normal freeway cruising is usually above this so its easy on the ears. Startup sounds great. A nice, deep rumble. WOT sounds very good. For me, its not too loud, not too quiet.

3. Weld quality is very good.

4. I believe the cats are 200 cell.

5. The only thing that screwed me a little was that the previous owner, for some reason, cut the tubes coming out of the mufflers in order to bring the tips in more flush. To do this, he cut out a section and then welded back on the end that is required for the tip interface. Well, I think my son could have done a better job welding (and he's 2). You can't see it, but it's pretty nasty. Also, for some reason, he tacked the driver side tip in place so its not adjustable! Luckily it lines up pretty good. The passenger side tip didn't line up very well and I loosened it but couldn't make it budge, however, I was running out of time. I'm going to look at it again tonight.

6. I didn't really notice a power increase, but I think 15-20 hp is pretty hard to feel in city driving. I'm going to Buttonwillow this Friday so we'll see if I can tell there.

Here's a pic of the GHL system:

Thumbs up

Went to Buttonwillow yesterday and really noticed the difference in power. Wow...the car feels amazing now. Shaved another 4 seconds off my last trip there and was consistently getting 2:17-2:18's.

The freeway drive there was awesome with the exhaust. No resonation in 5th or 6th at freeway speeds. It sounds magical while cruising. I got a lot of positive comments on the sound while going down the main straight too.

Just thought I'd give you a update and recommend the exhaust to anyone looking .
