Installed SSK and shift **** slipping

I installed a SSK a few weeks ago and sometime when I shift into third the shift **** is rising up off the shifter. As in, its not stuck on real tight. Is there some trick to this? Should I have put a little epoxy or something on the top of the shifter to stick it to the shift ****?

thanks for any help.

I didn't see a bolt on there and to remove from stock all you did was pull really hard in an upward direction.

This type has the bolt - can't find a pic of the other type, but it is my understanding that it does not have the bolt...

Mine looks just like the stock version of that one. I like that one better though

I replaced mine by pulling straight up, then put the Tequipment **** on (short and stubby). There is a little hex bolt as in the picture above that I thought I had tight enough, but I was getting a little slip and clicking when shifting. I pulled the boot back off, really tightened that sucker down good, and voila - no more issues.

Don't know the solution if you have no tightening bolt though.

No screw on mine and didn't want to epoxy it. So, bought the one pictured above so all should be well.

Thanks

I thought so. Told you I liked that one better. . Was trying to talk myself into a different shifter so this was a great excuse.
