996TT tire question
996TT tire question
I had a blow out and had to replace my tires this week and wanted to go with the Michelin PS2. I just got them installed today and when I got home to check the pressures I noticed that the front are N3 and the back are N2. They were having a tough time locating rear tires (they are back ordered) so I am guessing N2 is all they could find. Even Tire rack has them back ordered.
What is the difference between N2 and N3....is there any problem with running a mixed set?
Thanks

I have been told some mixed reports. Some say it is fine, others say you shouldn't do it. So I went back to America's Tire and told them I wanted a matching pair but no one can get the PS2 N3 for the rear. So I guess I am going with the Continental Sportcontact 2 (n2)even though I have read mixed reviews.
You should keep all 4 tires the same. You could try the Bridgestone RE-11's, cheaper than PS2's but basically the same ratings.
The N ratings are designations that Porsche has the tire manufacturers put on tires that Porsche has tested and approved for use on their cars. N0 is the first iteration. N2, N3, and N4 would be a later generations of rubber compound with the same tread pattern.
