GT2 RS vs ZR1 0-300 km/h data
That whole interior is pretty sweet. If Caravaggio didn't charge out the behind, and GM could pay it's vendors, it could be a sweet deal like Porsche and Recaro. Those seats would be a perfect combination of comfort for the baby boomers (the bulk of Corvette owners) and sportiness.
The ZR-1 logo is too big and cheesy looking though.

They need to make that ZR1 emblem just a design within the actual seat like the Porsche "Crest" in their cars.... and about half the size. Actually saw a ZR1 owner with Porsche GT3 seats in it.
I don't know why it is but GM just puts some gawdy **** on their cars.
Another question, why do a large percentage of Vette owners feel the need to paint their valve covers and the underside of the hood?
Just looks tacky as hell to me.http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...some-pics.html.
Agreed. It wouldn't cost that much more money and those that they lose because the car is $7-10K more expensive they very well may pick up in those that typically go German/Euro and like the looks/performance of the Vette but can't get past the interior.

Here's another GT2 RS test, this one was part of a giant 0-300 km/h test with multiple cars on the same track, same day from SportAuto. It's even faster in this test than it was in the last one. The car is for real.
20.7 - Bugatti 16.4 Veyron (Handling-mode, no High Speed-Key)
28.6 - Porsche 911 GT2 RS
32.3 - Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera (458 Italia: 32.4)
35.4 - Corvette ZR1
42.2 - Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
50.6 - Lexus LFA 54.3 (to 280 km/h)
54.3 - BMW M3 GTS

Buggati is damn slow!!! 20-21sec that's almost as fast as tip 997tt modded VTG's
Aero and gearing are two reasons the ZR1 is that far behind the GT2...that and the GT2 is making more than 620 flywheel hp. I am really surprised that even with the revised gearing that the 458 Italia is faster than the ZR1.
But as far as aero, the ZR1 has an approximate overall drag area of 7.9 and the GT2 at 7.4. How that translates to hp at a given speed, I'll leave that to someone else.
As far as 1/4 mile times, I'll be very curious to see if a 10.797 @ 132mph will be bested by the GT2. If not, it seems it must pass the ZR1 in the 135-170mph increment.

At least during the Sportauto test (same track, same day, same driver), the GT2 RS was faster than the ZR1 everywhere: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...5&d=1282357086
GT2 RS:
0-62 - 3.4
0-124 -9.8
0-186 -28.6
ZR1:
0-62 - 4.0
0-124 -11.5
0-186 -35.4
Also, only 136 GT RS's will be sold in the US and I will be very surprised if any of the owners end up running them on similar tracks, in similar conditions, with a similar skill levels as the record ZR1 times were ran. However, I would bet that on the same dragstrip, same day, same driver, the GT2 RS would best the ZR1 every time.

Both cars are in a rarified company..... don't get me wrong, I love my porsche but I'm not sold on the idea that the 997gt2 rs is 150k better than a zr1.....(that's 20k+ per second for a faster 0-300!) Now if I had extra cash laying around and would not miss 250k I'd be the first on the block with gt2rs. Unfortunately, my 401k is a mere 201k and now, "want" has given in to reason. Just my .02. 997 gt2rs will be a classic in the next 2-3 decades, if were still around

yes, it is 150k better. It has more power, faster in a straight line, faster in the bends, lighter, and the obvious quality of build difference is there as usual. If I had the money, there would be no choice. But if I had that kind of money, I would probably own a ZR1 as well.

Thank goodness we have choices! If we let the liberals have at it, we'll all be driving a hybrid. Wait, 918s are hybrid!
